Ovaries

Hello, my names Jasmine and I'm 21 years old.

I'm kept in the blue by my doctors at the minute and just wondering if anyone as ever had problems with there ovaries?

On the 16th of April 2021 I was rushed into hospital with my appendixes. I had surgery to remove them and all was okay after that. They discharged me the day after and sent me home with discharge letters and all the other normal stuff.

3 days later I browse through my discharge notes as I had to book a appointment with the nurse to check my stitches and I read on the notes that they had fount something adnomal with my left ovary and it was twice the size of my right ovary? No one even bothered to tell me this while I was in hospital and it also said it the notes they've put me in for a pelvis ultrasound scan for the 6th of May. I still don't know how they fount this out I don't know if it was through the CT scan on my appendixes or the operation so that really stressed me out. Fast forward to the ultrasound scan and they could see my right ovary really clear but couldn't see my left ovary at all so I had to had to have that probe one ( sorry don't know the actual name of it) and they still really struggled to find it which I couldn't really understand meaning its meant to be twice the size of right ovary? The scan ended up taking a hour beofre they could get a good look at my left ovary. I've also just had a phone call back now saying my urine sample as came back adnomal and I need to do another one. Sorry to ask on here its just the doctors aren't being the best and I can't help but worry. As anyone been through something similar?

  • Hello Jasmine,

Poor you - what a worrying time it must be for you at the moment!

I am glad that they eventually managed to take a good look at your left ovary and I hope that you find out more very soon. I can imagine it was also very frustrating to be told that your urine sample came back abnormal and that you needed to do another one.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
