Pea sized movable lump

Hi everyone,

for a few months now I've had a pea sized, hard, movable lump on the side of my breast under my armpit. It occasionally aches but isn't at all painful. Yesterday I noticed blood coming out of my nipple on the opposite breast from where the lump is. I rang the doctors straight away and told them about the bleeding and the lump and they got me in to be seen the same day. They've referred me to the breast cancer clinic and I should be seen within 2 weeks. Does anybody know what this might be and maybe put my mind at ease? I'm 20 years old, have a family history of cancers, and I'm unsure whether it's relevant or not but I have endometriosis and cysts all over my ovaries? Thanks a lot

  • Hello Alex8 and welcome to Cancer Chat,

You did really well to ring the doctor straight away after noticing blood coming out of your nipple. It's great that you managed to be seen the same day. I hope that you get some clarity on all this when you are seen at the breast clinic. There is some information on what to expect from your breast clinic appointment on this booklet from Breast Cancer Care which I hope will be useful to you.

Unfortunately no one here will be able to tell you what this movable lump might be but hopefully you will find out more soon after you have seen the specialist at the breast clinic.

I hope though that you will hear from others here who have been in a similar situation before and that they will come and share their story with you.

I keep everything tightly crossed for you and hope that everything will turn out to be fine.

    Best wishes,
