PCOS

Around December 2020 I discovered a kind of long lump in my lower left abdomen, finally 4 months later the doctors sent me to the hospital for a transvaginal scan which they then diagnosed me with polycystic ovaries.
They have not confirmed that the lump is the cysts, even though the lump was the main reason for the scan.
Has anybody else (with pcos or no pcos) had a lump in their lower left abdomen? If so what was it? Shall I keep pestering the doctors? As I'm very concerned

  • Hello SAR95,

Welcome to our forum! It's good you were sent for a transvaginal scan and that they did some investigations and found polycystic ovaries. As the lump was the main reason for the scan, it is likely that they would have told you if it was anything else, but perhaps to be completely sure you could ask your doctor to confirm that this is what the lump was. As you are very concerned about this, it would be a good idea to give your doctor a call and to double check that there is nothing else that needs looking into. So do talk to your doctor about it and I am sure they will be happy to explain your scan results in detail and answer any question you might have
