Hello people, can I please ask a few questions? My mum who is 88 recently had a blood test at home by our practice nurse to check to see if her vitamin D levels had improved, a few days later the doctor called my sister who is my mums career and said I'm concerned your mum may have liver cancer and her haemoglobin levels have dropped significantly since her last test and I think she could have a bleed from her liver? Anyway the doc visited her and told her the news and took more blood, he asked her about her bowel movements and asked if there was any blood in her stools, she said no but in all fairness she would not be able to see if there was as her eyes ain't the best, he said if you were to say yes to me I'd be able to diagnose you now? The following day the hospital called her and said we are doing a telephone consultation with you next week, what do you think this means please? How do they know for sure what's wrong without a scan or camera? Her doctor said she would need a camera down her throat! Do you think it's bad news or are they maybe just telling her what they are going to do? She is on the 2 week cancer pathway, please help me if you can xxx
