Polyp/thickening of lining

Hello,

I know no body can give any definitive answers but I'm just seeking advice from anyone who's been in a similar situation. I've had a vaginal scan done today and the doctor found a large polyp and thickening of the lining. Does this always mean cancer or are there other things that can cause this after menopause?

Many thanks

  • Hello Malcesine,

I am sorry to hear that the doctor has found a large polyp and thickening of the lining. I can imagine this is a bit of an anxious time for you and I hope that you get some definite answers soon on what is causing this polyp and thickened lining.

Hopefully you will hear from other members of the forum who have had this found during a vaginal scan too and they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out fine for you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi

I'm in the same situation. I'm 44, bled for 7 weeks straight, referred for scans which have found a thickened endometrium and a large polyp (gynaecologists words). I'm booked in for a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic at the end of June and I am a little concerned.
I hope you have made progress with your diagnosis and are doing okay.
