X-ray then Ct scan, any ideas why this needed to be done?

Hi wonder if anyone can help , I recently coughed up twice with blood just streaks nothing huge , had a chest X-ray nxt day I received a phone call from hospital to say something had shown up and need a ct scan booked nxt working day , I have been today may 4th 2021 and the ct scan was for thorax and abdomen 

I haven't got a clue if anything wrong as the nurse could not tell me a lot , any ideas why I needed this done and how long will await results

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. A CT scan is a more advanced imaging technique, so they likely wanted to see things in more detail to find out more. As for any more than this, I'm not sure exactly why - the best thing to do will be to wait for the results and you'll then get an opportunity to talk things through. You should hopefully receive results within 2-3 weeks or possibly sooner.
