Cervical cancer symptoms

Hi

I've been recently suffering symptoms of cervical cancer. They have been frequent bloating, watery and smelly discharge, pelvic pain, dull ache in my back and tops of my legs. I've even had very smelly discharge from my belly button. I've been eating but not able to eat a full meal due to feeling very full quickly. I've actually been really fatigued and tired. Basically I feel like I've constantly have my period. My period is always every 4 weeks and very very light which only last 2 days. I went to my dr and she has done a ca125 blood test, swabs and a pelvic examination. I'm still waiting on results as this was done late on Thursday. My dr told me my cervix was very tight and asked If I've had trouble to conceive in the past as well as see being painful. She also had trouble seeing my ovaries. She said once my results come back from my bloods and swabs we'll then take the next steps. I'm so scared as there's been various things happened to the women in my mums side of the family. My gran died from womb cancer and my aunt and cousin have both had abnormal cells and struggled to carry pregnancy full term. My sister also had very bad endo which ended up with her having cysts on her ovaries and having to have a full hysterectomy plus her womb hadn't developed properly. Sorry for the long post. I hope I haven't bored anyone too much.

  • Hiya! I was just wondering how you got on? I hope everything is ok?

I've also been having symptoms and have bloods on Thursday with results Friday. X

  • Hey Lisa

Yeah my ca125 came back raised so my gp referred me on the 2 week pathway to see the gynecologist and for a pelvic ultrasound. My us came back clear so the gynecologist was quite firm in saying its my bowels. Which it most certainly isn't. He referred me back to my gp. This is the same gynecologist who my sister had 3 years ago and he tried to tell her that she hadn't had one of her ovaries removed 10 years ago. She actually had to go to her gp and request her notes just so she could show him that she actually did have it removed. So I basically felt he didn't want to listen to me and dismissed me instantly. My gp isn't convinced either that its my bowels so she's referred me back for a 2nd opinion and to have an mri. So I'm basically still at square one. I hope you're alright and your bloods come back ok x

  • Hey hopefully you'll get some more clarification tomorrow then and get the ball rolling if need be for any tests and stuff you may need. Yeah its Thursday morning. Had a really ruff weekend. I didn't have a good day yesterday but feeling a bit better today. Its getting to the point now where I'm starting to feel a bit down as I'm fed up not feeling myself x

  • Do you think maybe the doctors will do some bloods Thursday or something along them lines just to have another check before your next app?

Got my results, so my lymphocytes are raised, I'm back Monday to have another blood test with results Tuesday. I can't remember if I said but along with the odd bleeding etc I've also had an enlarged lymph node in my groin and neck for some time. The doctor wants to see if it's still the same next week in terms of it it's still raised and then go from there. He said if it was back to normal I would go in Friday for an internal examination. Obviously my mind is racing that what if the bleeding etc is related to these lymph nodes. Now another weeks to wait xx

  • Hey yeah she might do another few bloods cause it has been a few weeks since I last got mine done. Yeah I'm sure your mind will be going ten fold. It's the waiting that's the worst. Did they say anything to you about having an infection or anything x

  • So I actually said to the doctor that the week before last I had a stuffy nose and sore throat for a couple of days and would that effect it, which he said it may well do so if it's redone Monday if it was because of that it should have gone back down. I obviously hope that it's nothing sinister but I still feel like there is no rush. They don't know what's going on, I don't know either and by the time I have my blood results again that's near on a month of no closer to actually knowing. I even asked the doctor about having a face to face appointment someone to actually examine me as no one has, to which he said let's re do the bloods first so more waiting. Sorry I'm proper moaning on today. Xxe

  • You certainly aren't moaning on. You are just concerned about your health. Everything just seems so stop start at the minute and they blame covid for it. I understand stand your frustration as when you feel rubbish all the time and you can't get to the bottom of it then it starts to really get you down. I hope you can get some answers soon. I really have had an issue with my gp its just been waiting on hospital appointments and a gynecologist that wasn't interested x

  • Hopefully with your next appointment you see someone slightly more understanding and who can fully check you over to get to the bottom of it and fingers crossed put your mind at rest. They must understand that anyone would be concerned if in the same position!

Your so right about the whole covid thing. I struggle to even get a face to face appointment with my gp, even for my children they try to diagnose over the phone. It's my little lest ones 3rd birthday next Saturday and now all I can think is that if my bloods are still off next week when I find out that I'll still be super anxious when I'm meant to be enjoy his special day. Xx

  • Heya! Please let me know how you get on today, hoping you come out feeling more positive.

I've just had my bloods done so will wait for a call Wednesday xx

  • Hey Lisa

So had my ct today. Wasn't told anything apart from the results will get sent back to my gp. I wasn't told how long this will take. Had the dye injected and the feeling of wetting yourself was horrible lol. I've been put on new meds from my gp to help with spasms n cramps but they've actually made me sick. I hope you get some positive news on Wednesday from your bloods.

  • Hey Ducky! That's a shame they couldn't tell you how long. Have you called your surgery to maybe ask if they have a timeframe? Sorry to hear about your sickness. Last thing you need right now. xxx

  • Hey Lisa

I phoned my surgery and all I was told it can take a few days to weeks. But my gp will phone with results. How did you get on with your blood results today x

  • Oh I hope it's not too long for you.

Well my lymphocytes are back down, but my hormone level is odd she said. So now I have to have another blood test to check my thyroid. Another two week wait. She's said about going in tomorrow so she can check the lumps, but I've just never felt so fobbed off. They said it was a full blood count so why haven't these things been checked. And as much as I understand bloods can help with some things I'm under the impression it needs to be properly checked. Just feel drained with it all! xx
