I found a lump in my breast, went to the doctors who have referred me to the breast clinic and I had my appointment through today, its 6 weeks time and I don't think I can cope with the wait, ant advice.

Hello Spellnux23
I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found a lump in your breast. It's understandable that you're feeling worried.
We know that many of our members here find it incredibly difficult waiting for appointments, tests, and results. It can help to try and keep in mind that the large majority of women who attend breast clinic are not diagnosed with breast cancer. Try to take each day at a time and not think too far in advance as this can cause you to feel more anxious.
It can also help to talk things through with someone and I wonder if you'd find it helpful to talk things through with one of our team of nurses. I'm sure that they would be able to give you some information, advice, and reassurance ahead of your appointment. If you would like to talk to them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.
Keep in touch Spellnux23. Let us know how you're doing and hopefully, these next few weeks will pass quickly.
Best wishes,
Jenn

Hi there
Sorry to hear that you found a lump and have such a long wait. Have you considered ringing the breast clinic to ask why it is 6 weeks or if there any earlier appointments/cancellations? 6 weeks seems quite a long time. I had to wait 2 weeks for my first appointment and 3 weeks for my second appointment at the breast clinic . They normally aim for 2 weeks in my area so I wonder if it's covid related delays. Either way I hope you get seen soon and everything goes ok ,
kind regards
