I'm sorry to hear that you've recently noticed some breast changes which have resulted in your GP referring you to the breast clinic. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things. 

Try to keep in mind that the majority of people referred to breast clinic are not diagnosed with cancer. There can be many reasons for lumps but the important thing is that you have noticed this and have gone to your GP for help. 

Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for your appointment but we know that some women are experiencing delays at the moment. It can help to talk things through at times like this and I'd recommend giving our team of nurses a call. I'm sure they will be able to give you some information and support whilst you're waiting to see the specialist. I'm sorry that you are going through such a worrying time and I understand how it must be very frightening.Although it's easy for me to sit here and say don't worry, but you have to try and keep yourself occupied until your appointment. I understand how difficult it is, I have had two separate appointments at the breast clinics regarding breast lumps. Both times I found a lump in my breast and went onto find one in my armpit and then I began to notice a series of other symptoms. It's easy to find new symptoms when we are already in a heightened state of anxiety but they could all be related to different things. 

The most important thing is that you have had the courage to speak to the doctor and get things checked out. I wish you the best of luck with your appointment.

I'm trying to keep busy and positive. I'm only 29. I know BC is rare at my age so there's hope.

I'm aware that I was very lucky being offered an appointment for next week. The wait is always terrible but I can't really complain considering everything that has happened on nhs in the last year.

You're right about finding other symptoms...it's such a scary time. It's difficult to not think the worst. I'm very anxious really. In fact I just returned to work after dealing with anxiety and depression for the last couple of months.

Next week, hopefully, I'll have answers for all of these findings.

Had my appointment today.

Had an USS and got very scared when I was told that it looked like a cyst however they could see calcifications and for that reason I was sent straight to a mammogram. It was all 'normal'. I have two cysts and breast changes but all benign.

I booked an appointment with my gp regarding this lump on my breast. Probably my gp will think I'm mad by now. I want a second opinion about this lump and would like to have a biopsy/remove the lump. I just don't feel reassured that the lump is nothing to worry about.

The reason I say this is when they were doing my USS, the Dr initially was like 'it's just a cyst' and then was scanning both breasts for a good 10 min and said 'oh I'm not sure, there's calcifications. You go to mammogram'. And then the mammogram was a very difficult scan because I have small breasts. Waited 10min and a Dr called me and literally sent me home saying 'it's all fine. Only cysts. One dense breast (the one with cyst) and you're too young'. Nothing he said reassured me.

Can I request a biopsy just to be sure that's only a cyst?

Sorry for my long post. I'm just feeling a bit lost and need to talk with someone.

In case someone finds this topic in the future. Always follow your heart and if you're not at peace with the answers you get, ask for a second opinion.

Just had my appointment today. And, yes, I have a cyst but they also found something that they are not sure and I had two biopsies taken.
