In absolute bits!

I'm so terrified that I'm riddled with cancer and can't help but fear the worst.

I found a long hard lump (feels tubular) that goes from my nipple up about 3 inches. When I raise my arms it causes a puckering. I have of course googled this and I can only find the cause of this to be a tumour. I now have a pain in my arm pit on that side and my hand is starting to feel numb.

Has anyone experienced anything like this and the outcome not to be cancer??

I have scan booked for next Wednesday but I'm going out of my mind with worry.

  • Hello Liz,

This sounds awful and I completely understand your anxiety... really sounds if you are going through the mill.

I note that on this website there is a live chat function with a nurse or indeed you can phone.

Why don't you give those a go as I'm sure it wil help talking it through?

    Good luck and best wishes.

    Adrian

  • Thanks Adrian, I'm not sure how I'd manage a phone call talking about it as I've been so emotional.

I know I should stop googling and wait till I know what I'm dealing with but that's a lot easier said then done.

I'm really trying to stay positive but my body feels warn out and I  can't shake the feeling that it's not going to be good news

  • Hi Liz,

Dr Google has a lot to answer for and I have been in a similar place over the past week in using it as a short cut for answers and completely understand your anxiety.

I found, today especially, it's really helped to talk things through with someone I trust and whilst it was a real effort, it was very helpful.

Good luck Liz and try to and get some down time over the next few days ahead of your appointment if you can.

    Best wishes.

    Adrian

  • Thank you for your kind words of support Adrian! Best of luck to you too.
