Fibromyalgia

Hi, I was diagnosed with having had Fibromyalgia since I was in my early teens, when I was 58 in 2015. Since then my life has gradually gone downhill like a ski jumpers. I had an MRI for back pain - bothered me for years. In 2018 within 8 weeks had an uncemented left hip replacement. I haven't walked without an aid since then. Jan 2021, double discectomy. Taken to my GP by my daughter (nurse) referred for a pancreatic scan. None of my symptoms meet the criteria, no weight loss, jaundice, change in stools, etc, yet I am having a telephone consultation with my GP regarding the scan tomorrow. Any thoughts on why please? My uncle died from Amyloidosis, which I know is very rare; I was wondering if the 2 were interlinked in any way - dominant or progressive genes?

  • Hello PatriciaO,

I just wanted to drop by and ask how did the phone consultation with the GP go today? I hope your scan goes well and that you get some answers soon. Perhaps you could flag with your doctor your concerns about amyloidosis and they will be able to tell you whether there is any chance the two could be interlinked in any way.

I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have had a similar experience before and that they will come and share it with you.

    Best wishes,
