Feeling really anxious as I was referred due to a lump on left breast which thry say is a floating island of tumours most likely fibroadoma everything else was picked up during mamograms and biopsy.  Anyone had anyrhing similiar and what was thr outcome, my next appointment is nx Thursday late afternoon.

  • Hello Aliva

I'm sorry to hear that you've been undergoing some tests recently following breast changes. It's obviously a worrying time for you and understandable that you have questions.

We have some information about LCIS on our website which you may find helpful. It's not uncommon for women to have further biopsies following an initial test and usually, this is so that the Consultant can get a clearer indication of what is going on. As you've mentioned that you have quite a few things going on in your breasts it would seem sensible that the Consultant wants to be clear in the diagnosis before discussing what is the best way forwards for you.

I'd really encourage you to give our team of nurses a call ahead of your appointment on Thursday. I'm sure it will help to talk with them and get things clear in your head. They will also be able to help you think about any questions that you may want to ask at the appointment. If you would like to chat with them they're available (after the bank holiday) Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that this helps. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on later this week.

    Best wishes,
