Toddler.. Inguinal Lymph Nodes... Mum worrying!

I have been suffering with health anxiety for a while, my obsession seems to be lymph nodes since I've had a swollen one for a few months - I've had a scan all normal. So now I move on to the next thing as that's what health anxiety does...

my little girl is 13 months old and I decided to check her for lymph nodes... why?!! I don't know, perhaps because I'm hyper alert for them!

I can feel a few in her groin after looking, is it quite normal to be able to feel groin nodes even when nothing is wrong and child is well?

  • Hello Mumofhals

I'm glad to hear that the recent scan you underwent didn't raise any concerns. I hope that it gave you some reassurance.

Some people are able to feel their lymph nodes more easily than others but if you have concerns about your daughter then do speak to her GP or the Health Visitor who will be able to give you some reassurance.

We'd really encourage you to speak to your GP about your health anxiety. It sounds like it's becoming a real problem for you. Speak to your Gp who will be able to arrange some support to help you deal with this. You might also like to have a look at the NHS website, Every Mind Matters for some advice and tips on managing your anxiety.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
