Hi there I'm new to here and just looking for some advice. I caught covid back in December and with the symptoms I had which are still ongoing since included the hoarseness and some times no voice. I had tests done and was told I had long covid. With the hoarseness I have shortness of breath and chest pain and no energy. 8 weeks ago I went into hospital to rule out things as my on going symptoms were still quite bad. At this time they reffered me to a 2 week urgent ENT clinic to look at my vocal cords. 5 weeks passed and I had only received a letter to say they had received my referral letter. I briefly spoke with my GP and she said that ENT had taken me off the urgent list and put me onto the general list which in my area is 44 week waiting time. She contacted them and asked for me to be put on another urgent list. I was and had an appointment letter arrive in the post to find out its a telephone appointment. I had this appointment yesterday and the doctor could hardly hear me as my voice has been very low this past few days. He doesn't think that my hoarseness has been due to covid and wants to take a look down my throat to see what's happening with my vocal cords. I have been in so much pain as it feels raw all the time and I struggle with swallowing as it feels like something is stuck in my throat. I would like to know has anyone else had any hoarseness for a long period of time and what should I expect from a face to face ENT appointment?
