Lump in my breast

So a few months ago i noticed my right breast was enlarged. I mentioned this to my mum who didnt think it was a concern. A week ago i found quite a big lump in my right breast. I was examined by the doctor yesterday morning and straight away she noticed the size difference which wasnt there before and found the lump immediately. She seemed very concerned and has referred me for an urgent app at the breast clinic. My periods are very late too. I am going out of my mind. I've had a lump checked before but it never felt like this one and the increase in the size of my breast is alarming. I really hope i get my app through asap as i cannot think of nothing else. Has anyone had anything like this?

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently noticed some breast changes. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious and wondering what may be responsible for things.
It's good to hear that your GP has referred you to be seen at breast clinic and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for an appointment. We know that this period of waiting for appointments and tests can be really difficult and it can help to try and remember that the large majority of women who are seen in clinic don't go on to be diagnosed with cancer.
You might also find it helpful to give our nurses a call and chat things through with them. I'm sure they will be able to offer some support and reassurance whilst you're waiting for your appointment.
