Raised Lymphnodes, infectious causes ruled out.

Hiya

So i have some lymphnodes in my neck/collarbone area that came up july last year, initally given two courses of antibiotics, nothing happened. Had an ultrasound around august was told the lymphnodes were just reactive nothing to worry about. Since then low grade fevers have continued 37.6 to 38.6, other symptoms being fatigue, nightsweats and itching. Was seen by infectious diseases doctors on the advice of the doctors i work with (nurse on an infectious diseases ward) ran every blood test under the sun (12 vials). Platelets, CRP and ESR came back raised even more so than they were previously. I am also under investigation for a rare adrenal tumor as them bloods came back raised aswell but if i am honest my main worry is lymphoma as the symptoms fit. All other blood tests were negative including viral diseases like epstein barr. I have a neck to pelvis CT scan tomorrow and i am a little nervous because the doctor said we need to make sure its not lymphoma still. If anyone has  any reassuring stories i would be greatful thank you!

  • Hello Sammyg2010,

How did that neck to pelvis CT scan go yesterday?

I know it is really hard but while you are waiting for these important results, try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you

I think because im also under investigation for an adrenal tumour aswell most likely doesnt help along with the lymphoma worry x

  • Hello Sammyg2010,

how was your CT scan? did the doctors find anything?

  • So according to the doctor theres nothing to worry about with my lymphnodes and they have referred me to endocrine as they are leaning towards a benign tumor on one of my adrenal glands x

  • Hi Sammy. I hope you don't mind me asking on here. But did you ever get to the bottom of your bloods? I also have raised igm and my esr and crp are actually showing numbers whereas before they've been nothing. I've also got low cortisol too so issues with my adrenals too. I've got itchy armpits and then when I googled that lymphoma keeps screaming at me. I'm fatigued and feel weak in my muscles and bones. I'll be honest I'm absolutely petrified. I've got 4 children and need to be well. Really hope your results came back OK

  • Hiya, so everything was pretty much ruled out for me. I do have an autoimmune blood disorder called antiphospherlipid syndrome which being autoimmune can cause similar symptoms. With the lymphnodes they have gone with it being reactive lymphadnophy which is basically just an immune response. I hope you have further tests planned and get answers soon x

  • Bless you thank you for replying. I'm so happy anything sinister was ruled out!! I have some potential autoimmune stuff but tests still ongoing (psoriatic arthritis). I have some vitamin deficiencies too but there's definitely something up with my adrenals as my cortisol was only 181. But I can't get an appointment until the 13th May. The Dr's asked me back to discuss them but it was marked as non urgent. I'm a bag of worry. Just hope everything will be OK. But I'm so pleased you're doing well. Thanks again xx
