This doesn't seem right?

I have a two year old daughter, and around 9 months ago I noticed she had lumps, around 5 on her neck, 3 in her groin and 1 in her armpit. As soon as I noticed the first lump I took her to the doctor who said it was probably an enlarged lymph node from an infection, bring her back in two weeks if it hadn't gone down. 2 weeks had past bought her back, sent to see another Dr who said the same thing, however this time bring her back in a month if the lumps are still present and she will be referred for scans etc. However this wouldn't be fair on her as its probably nothing I was told.

Took her back after a month to be told its probably because she's on the smaller side and her lymph nodes are more prominent, however got referred to a paediatrician to be sure. The paediatrician ran blood tests, which came back inconclusive as there wasnt enough blood taken, but she should be fine and don't worry unless she becomes unwell with it or they get noticeably bigger.

This was around 3/4 months ago and the lumps are still all there, should I be satisfied with this answer? She is well in herself but as her mum I can't help but worry.

  • Hello LouJMarie,

I can understand why you would worry about her little one and it's good you got on the case straight away and that she has seen several doctors about it. If you are still worried, perhaps you could consider getting another opinion. You can find out more about this on this page. You could mention that you are still not reassured and that the lumps are all still there and see whether they could arrange a scan for you if you feel this would give you the reassurance and clarity you need.

I hope you find out more soon!
