Enlarged Tonsil

Good evening. 
 

I just wanted to hear from anyone that has been diagnosed with cancer of the tonsil. Would like to know your experience of symptoms/ getting diagnosed etc if you are willing to share. 
 

I have been unwell recently, having trouble swallowing etc. Wasnt until now that I discovered that having one enlarged tonsil is concerning? Ive had it for a few years now but i just thought it was normal after my last time having tonsillitis. 
 

I spoke to the doctor today, and they are referring me for a scan. hve any of you had scans to test/diagnose? From looking online it suggests a biopsy is needed.

  • Just wanted to say Hello xxlisxx, I hope the scan goes ok. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. The only person that can diagnose you is your doctor so don't be afraid to ask them any questions you might have.
