Hello all,
Just looking for anyone that is/has been in the same boat and outcomes.
In January 2021 I was referred to breast clinic because I had pain in my left breast. I was given an ultrasound on the left breast and told it was healthy tissue/hormonal changes.
I also had a brief examination by the breast consultant.
A little while after I noticed a hardness in my right breast.
I brushed it off thinking it was hormonal changes, but approximately 8 weeks later it was still there so I made a gp appointment. The GP examined me and he said I had irregularities in the left breast, he estimated the lump in the right breast to be 2cm x 1cm and I had thickening in my right breast. He said he 'wasn't alarmed' but thought it better to refer me to the breast clinic. I've also had itching in the right breast and the nipple looks slightly retracted (but looks normal when cold).
The lump is at the top of my breast - around 2cm above the nipple. It's quite hard and deep and I don't think it's moveable.
I'm very worried as 'Dr Google' advises that non moveable breast lumps indicate cancer, especially with nipple retraction.
I'm waiting for my referral, but I'm a ball of nerves.
Part of me says 'it can't be cancer due to my age' but the other part thinks 'A bigish lump that doesn't move and nipple retraction are clear cancer signs'.
I'm 29, with 2 children and I'm 10 stone in weight so 'normal' weight for my height (5ft6).
I have a strong maternal family history of cancer (breast, ovarian, lung and bladder).
I'm so scared.
