Lump not showing on ultrasound

Ultrasound didn't show any lumps

  • Hey girl,

    hope you are dll right.

i am going through the same situation, I went for an ultrasound to check a breast lump and the tevhnicuan could not see any abnormal tissue, just normal breast tissue. The lump is big, I have it for over an year too.

I got a biopsy done yesterday just to make sure as my sister had breast cancer.

i would say if it can not be seen on the image you should be all right.

  • Thank you for the comment, it's reassuring to hear someone in the same situation. I don't feel as worried anymore as I keep telling myself the fact nothing alarming showed means all's okay. I really hope all's clear with you! Maybe come back with an update if you have the spare time?

sending out lots of positive energy for you!

    Hi Makeda

I had a big lump on breast which didn't show up on either the ultrasound or mammogram. They did a biopsy as they could feel it and it came back malignant. It makes you wonder how accurate these scans actually are if they can't pick up even large lumps 7cm !!

  • Hi all,

what was the update with your situation as i have a large lump that can be felt but it showed normal breast tissure on ultrasound, i dont want to seem like a drama queen but i dont know if they can take a biopsy of just breast tissue if no lump can be seen?

i still feel uncertain after leaving

  • Hi,

I was at the hospital last Friday 24th June with a lump that all the different staff could feel, but as with you on the ultrasound there was nothing obvious there. He did say a cyst or anything nasty would show up as black and I was looking at the screen with him and there certainly wasn't an obvious black area where the lump can be felt. The Dr took a biopsy to give me peace of mind, but said she's hopeful it will just show regular breast tissue. Perhaps ask them to do this for you too to give a definitive answer? I have to go back next week for the results. Good luck xx

  • Hey, I'm in the same predicament as you. Everyone seems to comment but no update on what was the end results. Its making me anxious. I really hope the lack of update means everyone's result came back positive and fine. I was wondering did you get your results back? I hope it was all clear? Pease let me know. I've also had a lump for a few months now that can be clearly felt but after having it scanned it showed normal breast tissue, which the Dr. said it's nothing to worry about, this was around the same time you mentioned yours being scanned too! (Which is besides the point). Anyways, please let me know if your results came back positive, if that's okay.

  • Hello, so sorry you're going through a stressful situation. I am relieved to say my biopsy results came back totally normal - it is most likely a lipoma, a fatty lump which is harmless, I have one one my stomach already which has been there several years and causes no issues. Having googled it my lump felt exactly as a lipoma is described - like a soft rubber ball under the skin. Also lipomas don't show as a lump on ultrasound scans as they're basically the same tissue as breast tissue so don't stand out. Fingers crossed for you that you have nothing to worry about. xx

  • Hi I'm having the same situation, what was your outcome?? I'm so stressed and worried and just need some positive stories

  • This is my situation I'm awaiting a biopsy but so worried have large lump but two ultrasounds show normal tissue? Any update for your situation
