Waiting for breast clinic appt and have scared myself

Hi, I'm currently waiting for an appt with the breast clinic after seeing my GP on Friday. I noticed my nipple was starting to 'sink' into my breast and my breast had also gotten bigger. Whilst at the appt the GP said she could see skin changes in the area and could feel something about the size of a 10p. Told me she couldn't tell me what it could be and it at all needed checking out and I would be seen within 2 weeks.

Since then I did exactly what I tell others not to and googled and have now scared myself, really should learn to follow my own advice sometimes.

I'm supposed to call the surgery if I haven't heard anything by thursday of this week but the waiting sucks already, I'm finding it hard to concentrate on anything else. I have 2 young girls, 2 step daughters who are already dealing with stuff as their mum is ill in hospital, I launched my own business recently and I just really need to be concentrating on everything else and working etc but just not sure how to do that.

  • Thank you Mel, I don't think its hit me yet, probably will when I see my consultant again.

Yes your girls will keep you busy until Thursday but I do know its a worry and hard to distract yourself.

Really hope all is OK with you, feel free to message anytime and let me know how it goes

    Poppy x

  • MH78 how did u get on with your results? Im waiting for mine after a similar thing. Hope u are both doing well x

  • Hi, I'm so sorry I didn't reply, things have been hectic here.

So I got my results in June, they were benign but that was all i was told. The consultant was literally in the room for 1 minute, told me it was benign and to come back if there were any changes and left.

I am back to the clinic this afternoon as the lump didn't go away and did change again in shape, size and i have a red patch on my breast now as well.

I was given antibiotics for a week to see if that was the problem because the information placed on my health record didn't tell anyone what the lump actually was, just that it was benign but they made no difference so it was back on a 2 ww referral.

We have moved areas so this time a 2 ww has actually been less than 2 weeks and I'm expecting this aft to be the same as last time really. I don't feel as worried as last time but there is still that small amount of concern.

Stacca83 how did you get on with your results?

Poppy1900 how are you? I hope you're doing well x
