Breast Cancer

I found a lump in my right breast and my GP referred me to the breast clinic. When I arrived I was given a mammogram then was told to go to the waiting room to wait for the Doctor to see the results. I was then called for a ultra sound and a biopsy and had a titanium chip put into the lump. I was then sent for another mammogram and another ultra sound and biopsy. I then saw the Doctor who said it looked suspicious. Can the ultra sound pick up if the lump is cancerous?

I do have breast implants could they have made it look like a lump if they were leaking.

  • Hi the ultrasound will pick up anything that looks suspicious but the biopsy is the way you will find out 100%.

I had the same mammogram, recall, further mammogram, ultrasound, titanium marker then the consultant said he highly suspected it was cancer but it would be confirmed 10 days later which it was.

It is possible the implant has shown something but you will only know for sure with the results.

When have you got to go back for results

  • Hi,

itvseems I'm one of the lucky ones I get my result on Thursday a week after tests.
I had breast cancer 1991 and cervical cancer in 2008. That's why I'm thinking it's not cancer even I couldn't be that unlucky.
