Post investigations for lumps in neck

Basically I have had multiple ultrasounds that have determined that the 2 lumps I have in my neck just feel big due to them being on top of an artery (although I haven't felt them before) I'd say one is pea sized and the other grape sized and sometimes bigger. It has also been found that I have low vit d and iron. Which is currently being seen as the reason I am so tired. Basically the lumps in my neck are not painful but my neck and collarbone are really painful. It feels like theres a constant pulling and my armpits ache alot. I have an appointment with the haematologist on Tuesday where I suspect they'll be like theres nothing wrong so go back to your gp. So I've come here to ask what happens after the lumps don't need a biopsy. I'm interested if it just gets completely left and not discussed further. I am so tired and uncomfortable constantly so would be really disheartened if here is the end of the road and nothing more can be done. Any help would be great.

  • Hi Robyn,

It's good to hear you have an appointment coming up tomorrow. Your question would probably best be asked to the specialist that you see at your appointment - i.e. what happens if you don't have a biopsy. You can explain your concerns and that you feel you need some answers. You can then see what they say, and then if the appointment doesn't give you the information you need, you can always speak to your GP again, particularly if you continue to experience the pain and discomfort.

I hope all goes well tomorrow.
