Could I have lymphoma?

Hi all. Don't know if I'm over worrying (probably am) but over the last few weeks/months I've noticed my under arm lymph nodes are rather swollen and slightly painful. I notice when I put roll on deodorant on that it hurts. I am fatigued, I have depression and am always marginally fatigued but it's just so hard at the moment to get out of bed! Recently I've started to get insanely itchy skin, all over. My hands my feet my legs EVERYWHERE, especially my scalp. Nothings changed to make this make sense. Sometimes the itchy ness is accompanied but white marks, usually long lines that look a lot like scars or burns. The marks fade after an hour but itching persists. I've been taking antishistamines to stop the itching but it doesn't do anything.

ive been through pages and pages trying to figure out what it all could be, the only thing I come across that I have more than a couple symptoms of is Lymphoma. But I don't have any weight loss? In fact I've been trying to lose weight for a while to no avail, which makes me think it can't be lymphoma. I don't have an appetite I just eat for comfort.

im currently backwards and forwards from the doctors with my depression, so feel like making an appointment for this will just make them think I'm crazy!

Any help is appreciated

thanks x

  • Hello Harleymaee and welcome to Cancer Chat,

I think it would be a good idea to go and see the doctor about this persistent itchiness and the other symptoms you describe. Your doctor will be in the best position to tell you what it might be and to prescribe something hopefully to alleviate this itchiness as it can't be very nice for you. Don't try and figure out yourself what it could be: you will only make yourself even more worried and only the medical experts will be able to diagnose you.

Don't hesitate to book an appointment to see the doctor or to talk to the doctor about this. Don't worry they will never think you are crazy and they will take your concerns seriously. Your depression is a completely different matter and they will treat each issue you are dealing with separately.

I hope you find out more soon about what is causing these symptoms.

Best wishes and best of luck for your appointment,
