They've found more lumps

Hi there, bit of background information, I'm 27 and have had a lump in my neck for the last 4 months. I went to my first hospital appointment today and the ENT had a good feel and he's found more lumps. I had the camera up my nose and down my throat but he said that looks OK. I now have to wait for an ultrasound appointment to come through the post. He did say he thinks they are benign but can't say for sure until I have my ultrasound and maybe a biopsy. Back to the waiting game for me

  • Hello Pebblesxox,

That waiting game is the hardest thing really. So poor you having to go through it all again. I am sorry to hear that the ENT has found more lumps. It's reassuring though that he thinks they are benign but it's always best to have this confirmed with the ultrasound and biopsy if needed. So all you can do really is wait for that ultrasound appointment to come through. Try not to worry too much though and to take one day at a time, avoid looking anything up online and just keep busy and distracted until you have your ultrasound.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you for replying. The wait is certainly awful. I was kind of praying that at my first appointment he would of said oh its nothing to worry about and just send me on my way. I'm not too sure how hereditary cancers are but my grandfather passed away from throat cancer so that is a huge issue for me.

  • So I've just had a phone call, I have my ultrasound on Wednesday morning. I'm keeping everything crossed.
