Hi everyone,
I went to the doctor recently complaining of wheezing in my chest and a pain in my shoulderblade. She sent me for an X-Ray and called today with the results to say they found a 2.5cm shadow on my right lung.
I am only 36 and I had a bout of pneumonia in 2019. I am also a smoker - not very heavy - but still I am naturally terriffied!
The doctor sounded concered on the phone and told me she had referred my for a CT as a "matter of urgency", as has the radiographer who viewed my XRay. She also said that it appears to be a different issue than the pneumonia I had before.
Right now I am incredibly scared, very emotional and don't know what to do. My partner has told me to stop worrying until I get the CT Scan and the results from that. She's 100% right but I am freaking out!!!
I don't have adate fr the scan yet but I looked online - worst thing I could have done - and it seems as if my symptoms are similar to those of someone with lung cancer. Is there a good chance of it being cancer? If so, it seems that that definitely is not good news!!
Any help, advice, guidance, words of wisdom would be much appreciated. I don't know what to do....
Thanks
