Hi all, about a month and a half ago now I started farting way more than usual, and they smelt really, really bad all of a sudden (and still do). About a week or 2 after that I started having bloody diarrhoea, and then a few days/a week after that I was having to go the loo way more than usual, around 6-8 times a day. It seems aswell like if I eat, then within 30 minutes I'll need the toilet.

I went to the doctors and they gave me a blood test and 2 stool samples, all of which were clear apart from one of the stool tests which found very small amounts of blood. I told them I was worried about it being cancer, and they reassured me that due to my age (I'm 21) and the fact that nobody on my family has ever had it makes them confident that I don't either. However, they then said they've referred me to the gastroenterologist under a 2 week wait referral, which is supposedly what the doctors do if they suspect it's cancer. She said she's doing it because she doesn't want me to have to wait ages with these symptoms, but my minds all over the place and I have a feeling she's just saying that to try calm my nerves. 
 

can anyone provide some insight as to what else this could be? I have literally no other symptoms at all.
