Just got call to say FNA happening alongside my US today!

Can anyone give me their experience of a fine needle biopsy? Was only prepared for the US scan today to get a call saying ENT realised the doctor doing my US is trained to do FNA... Just really want to know what to expect from a patient perspective versus the information out there medically!

Thank you so much if one of you can reply to me!

  • I had a FNA on my thyroid and a lymph node. There isn't that much to say really. Felt a bit like pricking yourself on a needle. Bit of a sting but only while they were doing it. I went straight back to work afterwards (and one of my students asked why I'd a plaster on my neck and if I'd been "stung by a bee."

I had an appointment a week later to get the results.
