Breast tissue not present

I am just wondering how normal this is as Google has being no help

3 weeks ago I went to have my breast looked at for a lump and they took aspiration biopsy, I went back today for results and saw the actual consultant than the doctor under him and he said the results came back okay his only concern was there was no breast tissue, he had a feel himself and said to do a core biopsy so he took 4 sample with a device that makes a puncture noise and I will go back in 4 weeks for results and go from there he said depending on results

His only real concern was that I had no breast tissue from my aspiration results is this common, is this a concern, I am just 30 years old last week and have had 2 children and have as they call it noddely boobs, he said am I due on as they feel full which I am not due in for another 2 weeks

Any information would be appreciated, I don't look to much into these things but just in my mind of its quite common for it not to show breast tissue and he must be a little concerned for it not to to do the biopsy and the aspiration test coming back okay

  • Hi Amy,

Unfortunately this is a question I cannot answer but our team of cancer nurses may be able to shed some light on this so if you'd like to have a quick chat with them they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will get to you soon as well but in the meantime we're thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed for good news in 4 weeks time.

    All the best,
