My daughter has been struggling for about two years with terrible eczema (not yet diagnosed as such but now awaiting a dermatology appointment). She has had ongoing issues with lymph nodes in her neck - one came up out of nowhere about two years ago followed by a couple of others a few short months after seeing a haematologist who sent her for an ultrasound exam in clinic but felt there was nothing to worry about so discharged her.
Then the eczema started and has got steadily worse so that she cannot work as it is all over her face, round her eyes and walking even short distances makes her feet break down.
She is terribly fatigued, seems to have frequent periods of feeling freezing then overheated. She cannot sleep and this is adding to her stress. Some of the lack of sleep is down to itching constantly.
In the last ten days she has begun complaining of bone pain - all over - her face, arms and legs ache and painkillers do not give much relief now. The pain is waking her when she does manage to drop off. She describes it as a deep aching sensation.
i just wondered if we should insist on another haematology appointment. We have moved to a new area with a fantastic GP surgery who have done much for her in the short time we have been here and I don’t want to make them feel I am being a pushy mother but when I looked at photographs of her just three years ago I hardly recognise her any more. She looks so ill.
