Sinister symptoms

Hello

I am 27 years old. I was diagnosed with endometriosis over 5 years ago. Adenomyosis in July last year and polyps 2 weeks ago after having a scan.

I have had multiple surgeries, tried all pills and injections and nothing has stopped me bleeding.

Over 3 weeks ago I started bleeding after sex. I was having on/off pains and red and brown bleeding everyday. I had my 3rd coil removed (moved to the wrong place again) on Wednesday 16th April and since then I have had even heavier bleeding with clots stretching from my palm to the tip of my finger taking up to 3 flushes just to get rid off.

I went to A&E today and they gave me tranexamic acid to try and stop the bleeding until I can have a hysteroscopy,  polyp biopsy and endometrial ablation.

I'm worried sick about my symptoms being sinister. Even with all my gynaecology issues this isn't normal for me.

Is there anything else I can ask for?

Many thanks

X

  • Hey, sorry to read everything you have gone thru (it mirrors my own health in that respect!) just a little message to say ablation can have a negative effect on your fertility and excision is usually a safer option if you hope to start a family in the future. Hope your procedures go smoothly and your results are ok, im waiting for another major op too.... I also have quite a large fibroid in my womb and a growth on my liver. All the best x

p.s ask to have your bloods checked for iron, folate & b12 as they can dip from heavy bleeding. Ask if they think you may have menorrhagia - itl explain the blood loss.

  • Thank you for your reply. And I'm sorry your having similar issues. I didn't realise how mentally draining it could be.

I have been blessed with 3 children and I've explained to my consultant that I want sterilising at the same time as I could not cope with anymore children due to my ongoing health issues.

I do have menorrhagia and my iron levels look OK at the moment. I think because cervical and endometrial cancers have very similar symptoms I'm quite scared of them being overlooked.

I'm hoping the procedures will happen very soon so it can ease my worries.

  • Bless you yes it is a horrible condition, I understand you and sympathise with you completely. Ah 3 children, your very lucky. Myself and my partner had all our ivf tests 2019 then I lost him to covid just under a year ago :-(

It’s good that you are asking the hospital to be very thorough with the tests, I hope someone else may be able to give you some answers to your post. Take care of yourself :-) x
