Colonial test after biopsy

Hi,

I am new here and thought I would share and get others opinions on what I m going through at the moment. I am 39 year old and my husband is 41 years old. He recently found a lump over his collar bone and went to see the doctor. Dr asked for ultrasound and then biopsy. Biopsy results have come back and Dr told him that it seems to be reactive node however they need to do more tests to find the nature of cells.

Has anyone been in this situation before? We don't know for sure if Dr is misleading us and not telling us straight away. They are doing more tests to see if there are cancerous cells. My husband is panicking so much and I m trying to reassure him there is nothing wrong.

Please can anyone shed light on this. Many thanks.

  • Hello Sheesa,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for these additional tests. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing your husband can do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if he can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for him to do this at the moment but it will help him feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Lucie,

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is extremely hard and difficult to wait for the results. Sorry the test I mentioned is called clonality test, somehow I mistyped it and am not able to edit it.

Dr has mentioned two weeks waiting time and it will be mid next week we are going to find about the results.

  • Hi.

I'm in a similar position, having had similar results from a biopsy at the same time. My biopsy was sent to clonality but still, almost 6 weeks on,  I'm no further down the line and in limbo. I'm scared but the wait is as excruciating for my children and family as it is for me. Have you had clonality results back yet? I can't find out how long they can take and it's an added nightmare trying to get hold of people or getting them to return my many phone calls
