Fingernail Clubbing

I have just been to my drs as have developed fingernail clubbing. Didn't even know this was a sign of lung cancer

Very slight cough, and breathlessness (but am overweight smoker)

Anyway apparently lungs sounded clear, but has still sent me for chest xray and bloods.

Forgive me but surely if my lungs were clear then there is n way to send me for chest xray to rule out lung cancer?

What i am asking is has anyone had a chest that sounded clear through stethescope actually turn out to be lung cancer?

Hello,

I just wanted to leave a wee note to say that it's probably a good thing that your doctor has sent you for further testing. Just to be safe!

This is in NO way to worry you - but my dad had a clear chest and no out of the ordinary cough when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, he was send for X-rays and scans due to shoulder pain that was on going.

Good luck with your X-ray and further tests, fingers crossed nothing untoward is found and it's just a routine check
