I just wanted to leave a note to say I can completely empathise with how you are feeling. 
 

I started with noticing my breast was slightly prickly / itchy. Then I began to get some pain in one area, I found a lump and went to the doctor Thursday past, he confirmed the lump and has referred me to the breast clinic.

My appointment letter arrived today and I am not due to be seen until the 29th. Just over two weeks left to worry and panic over this. One minute I'm fine and the next minute I'm panicking and feeling completely sick to my stomach.

One minute I'm convinced it's something terrible and noticing other symptoms such as new veins showing in the same area as the lump , and the next I'm thinking there's no way I could have cancer,

im 29 with 2 young children and just worried sick for them x

Hi Lou. Sending lots of love and well wishes your way. I understand - the evenings are a real pain point for me too. The feeling of dread and worry kicks in.

Good to hear from you, you say you have the prickly/itchy feeling too. It's driving me mad trying not to itch and wondering what the heck it is and does it mean cancer (plus googling symptoms too much which hasn't helped and made my imagination run wild)

Me too - I think I've actually had it on and off for a good number of months now but I just didn't really zone in on the fact it was reoccurring?? Of course I have been relying on Dr Google too which is not helping.

I am pretty sure that when I have my breast clinic appointment on the 29th they are going to find something untoward. Between my breast feeling hard/firmer in one area, a lump felt by the doctor, the itching, aching and uncomfortable on and off on the same breast and the appearance of veins in the exact same breast and same side as my lump - I am convinced it has to be something 

I will keep an eye out for updates from you both and will be keeping every thing crossed that these symptoms are liked to a cyst or something  even less worrisome. 
 

How are you both feeling? I am fine most of the time then I have a sudden 'rush of fear' where I am panicking again and feeling sick. I want to take time off work big unfortunately it isn't an option so trying to juggle clients while pretending to be fine. The joys

There are so many things it could be so I'm  trying not to guess but it's hard and I am a big worrier.

I am very up and down also, yesterday I was a total mess and convincing myself of the worst, today I am a bit better and keeping occupied.

Initially I wasn't too worried about the itching but when it didn't stop I went to my doctor who found a lump that I hadn't felt. I have since put 2+2 together and made 6!

The waiting is awful and when feeling anxious I did call a private clinic to ask about screening. Although they can see you almost immediately it does however cost approx £1,000!

I'm a natural worrier too, I have been unwell on and off for about a year and so far I've had camera into my stomach, numerous blood tests for blood disorders, MRI for my brain all in the last few months, part of me is saying surely something sinister would have shown by now - the other part of me is thinking maybe this is why I've been unwell for the last year, just with nausea / extreme fatigue and bruising. 
 

I'm glad to hear that today is a more positive day for you - I think the trick is keeping busy. When evening comes and I wind down, that's when my mind goes wild. 
 

£1,000! At times like this, bless the NHS! I was thinking of calling the breast clinic to see if they had any cancellation list that they use but I don't want to look like a pest haha.

I would definitely call the clinic and ask if they can get you in sooner if there are any cancellations, that's not being a pest at all.

Sorry to hear you have been having health worries. I have strange symptoms that come and go, the latest one was a cold wet feeling on my thigh that went on for 2 weeks. I try to put most things down to anxiety or hormones and hate going to the doctor imagining they will think I'm a hypochondriac but I'm glad I did with the itching as she found the lump.

I hope you are doing ok and I wanted to let you know how my appointment went as you have some similar symptoms to me.

I was in the clinic about 2 hours while they did a physical exam, mammogram and ultrasound. They said I had a thickening of breast tissue behind the nipple, (feels lumpy) but they weren't concerned about it and put my tender itchy nipple down to hormones. They said to keep an eye on it and if a rash or any other changes happen to see my doctor again. They didn't give any advice about what I do to help the tenderness & itching, just hope my crazy hormones calm down I guess. My boob is really sore today but that could be from the mammogram yesterday.
