It all started in December 2020 when I found a small lump under my right armpit. I saw a GP in March who took blood (results subsequently came back as normal) and examined the lump, both breasts and lymph nodes in my neck and groin area. She never found any other lumps whilst examining these other areas. She advised that she thought the lump under my armpit was a swollen lymph node. I was referred to the breast unit via the 2 week pathway.
A few days after being referred to the breast unit, I developed a deep ache in my right groin area. This is something I have have experienced about 3 times in the past, the first time I experienced the ache in my groin was in my early 20's.
My appointment at the breast unit was on the 1st of April. The doctor who examined me was not concerned about the lump but as standard protocol, I had an ultrasound carried out on the swollen node. During the ultrasound, the sonographer detected calcification in the node and called for a consultant radiologist who confirmed the findings. She took a biopsy there and then. She told me so was not overly concerned and thought it was a benign node. I was then sent back up to the same doctor I saw initially. Again, she advised that she was not too worried either. I am still waiting to get the biopsy results back.
I am worried that I have primary breast cancer that has metastasised to the upper femur located within my groin area (secondary bone cancer) and mentioned this to my GP. She does not think it is that at all but to referred me for a pelvic xray which came back normal.
Although I still do not have the biopsy results and the pelvic xray came back as normal, I cant shake the feeling that there is something sinister going on. Do you think there is any cause for concern?
