Petechiae - I can’t stop stressing out about it

So, two days ago I was doing a workout by lifting weights. I changed the weights from light to heavy and did this for a while. Today, I noticed very small dots on my arm and am really scared over this. I'm scared over this because I've heard that a lot of people who have leukaemia have purpura or petechiae. They aren't that clustered together and they are quite faint (I can't really see them when the light isn't shining on my arm). I tried linking this to the workout I did, but I'm stressing over how the workout was two days ago. Wouldn't I have had the petechiae right after my workout? I also had a blood test in January or February, to check my thyroid and everything was fine, including my iron levels.

  • Hello GaintFoodie101,

It's good that your results were fine. If you still feel concerned about this or if there have been any changes, you should contact your doctor again. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

    I hope this is helpful,

  • Hi,

This was helpful and thank you. By now, some of the dots have disappeared but there are still some very small dots scattered on my upper arm. However, I am still worried about whether the dots weren't caused by the workout, since I only noticed them a day after the workout.
