Supraclavicular Lymph Node.. Worried!!!!

Hello All,

I recently had my covid vaccine - I noticed my shoulder / collarbone was sensitive when I touched it a day after I noticed I had a small, moveable, lump.

I spoke to the GP on the phone (because of covid) she said it's likely a lymph node from the jab. I went away and still wasn't happy as no one saw me... so I called back and spoke to a different GP... she didn't sound worried either, but called me in... I saw her, she felt it and didn't blink an eye lid... but said she would give me a blood test for peace of mind.

I rang back to get the results and spoke to a further GP... my blood tests were completely normal.... I explained it to him too and he also didn't seem like he was concerned.

I work at a private hospital, so went to see a consultant dermatologist on his lunch break ( he has had a special interest in lumps and bumps for 28 years ) - he wasn't worried, said it was small like a little finger tip size, it was moveable etc... and then he said come and see me in three weeks for a follow up. I went back, he said there's been no change. So he wasn't worried...

I have severe health anxiety and Google is sending me through the roof...

has anyone had a supraclavicular node story and it not be sinister??

I suffer with breast acne, could this cause the swelling???

  • Hi

I had my first pzifer dose 6 weeks ago then about a week later noticed a lump above my left collar bone and was extremely worried, 5 weeks on and it's still there but has decreased In size and its soft & moves around im so glad I came across this thread as it seems a lot are getting the same after the jabs.

  • Being a cancer patient I was  worried when I found a pea sized lump on my breast bone, the day after my second AZ jab. I had read the reports about a possible relationship to the jab but I was anxious in case it was the melanoma that had returned again. My consultant saw me 3 weeks later & was unsure about it so he did a fine needle aspiration and sent it off to histology. The results took 3 weeks and in that time the lump has been slowly decreasing in size.

The results were - inconclusive - so it isn't cancer but he's pretty sure it's vaccine related. If the lump hasn't completely disappeared in another 3 months he is going to remove it but it will leave an unsightly scar above my cleavage because it's on the breast bone. So I'm hoping it disappears on it's own.

So take heart everyone - get them checked out but in almost all cases it will be vaccine related. It also means that your immune system is strong & doing it's job properly - trying to eliminate the invader in your body!

  • Hello!

I know how you feel. I noticed a swollen supraclavicular on my left side the day after I got my Moderna vaccine. It measured about an inch! To make it worse, I was already having other scary symptoms; asymmetric tonsils, swollen lymph nodes in neck, bone pain, itching, mild sweats at night.

After my ultrasound which checked all of my lymph nodes in my neck and above the shoulder, the sonographer showed me the results and said that everything looked normal. Normal vascularity and blood flow with no suspicion of anything sinister. She also told me that they don't measure the length of a lymph node, rather the diameter which was 3mm.

I hope this is helpful to anyone going through this. I also had an MRI which showed a normal asymmetrical tonsil and bloods which have come back fine. Bone pain is unexplained but I am starting to wonder/hope how many of my symptoms are due to anxiety.

  • I'm glad I found this thread as I have exactly the same problem.

A few days after having my first jab I was in the shower and noticed a lump above my collarbone. I left it a week or so thinking it was linked to the jab. I also felt a lump on the inside of my shoulder. By the time I got an appointment to see the doctor the ones in the shoulder had gone but collarbone remained so was sent for ultrasound.

By the time of that appointment I had already had my 2nd jab and the one in the shoulder was back. Ultrasound showed swollen nodes from shoulder to my neck.

I had blood tests today and being sent to hemotology and for X-rays.

Definitely better to be safe than sorry but this does seem to be common but quite unreported in the media and doctors seem to know nothing about it especially as she assured me after the first jab that it had nothing to do with the jab.

More reporting on this would definitely help people deal with the stress of finding lumps.

  • Hi

its nearly been 5 weeks for me since having the Pfizer vaccine and about a few days later I developed a moveable pea sized lump just above my collar bone on the same side I had the vaccine .

i was happy to find this forum and brushed it aside however  the past couple of weeks the whole area of the lump is starting to ache even though I try not to touch it ️ I'd say  I have quite a good pain tolerance threshold however this is so achy . It doesn't seem too painful to touch though ..

Has anyone else been experiencing this as well ?

  • I had my vaccine on the 28th May. On the 03rd June the pain in my neck started and thats when I felt the swollen gland. I knew nothing was there before because a month before I had a chest xray and had things looked at after I found a lump behind my ear which ended up being nothing serious.

Im now seeing a nurse this Thursday because my 2nd Jab is coming up and I don't really want it if I'm honest. I don't want anything else swelling up. Can't believe its been 2months and still there. It doesn't hurt anymore and has shrunk in size but I thought it would have gone down by now!!

  • So reading this post has taken a little bit of my anxiety away but I'm in the same boat.

Approx a week after I'd had my second AZ jab I noticed a lump on my neck. I think the opposite side to the jab arm although I didn't really take a lot of notice of which arm in went in.

I went to docs next day and she said not rot to worry I probably had a virus. She did some bloods and said my white blood cells were slightly low and that backed up her theory. She said it would be gone within a week or two. Fast forward six weeks. It's still there although reduced in size but have found two much smaller ones when feeling around along my collarbone. Probably around 5mm if not smaller. I've obviously convinced myself it's C and have been worried sick. Doc has referred me for a non urgent scan to put my mind at rest which I've expedited to a private scan on Monday.

it's also worth noting I had COVID 4 weeks before my second jab and the day after I found the lump I also came out in a head to tow rash that went after 24 hours.

im hoping the lumps are vaccine related and nothing scary but it hasn't stopped me being worried sick every  spare minute of the day.

  • Just came onto this page after a search of breast and armpit pain. My mother in law is currently being treated for triple negative breast cancer so I became really anxious about checking. I had my first COVID Pfizer vaccine in May and my second last month. Since then my breasts have been so painful, both of them and under my arms, with a sharp stabbing pain. I have also noticed the lymph node in the back of my neck is swollen. Having read all of the threads on here, I can't believe how many similar symptoms there are. I've been to see the nurse and she has told me there is nothing sinister that see can see or feel. She has suggested it's a hormone imbalance?
I agree with you all, Googling is not good and has spiked my anxiety beyond belief.

I hope you are all ok and stay safe, let's hope with time we can get some answers. ️ ️

  • PLEASE SOMEONE REPLY AND CALM ME DOWN

i had my phizer vaccine on the 19th July but on the 2nd of august I felt a small bean soft moveable lump above my left collarbone near my neck which is the side I had to e vaccine! (First dose) the two days later another two or three appeared right next to it in some what a cluster causing it to look like a big lump on my neck when I roll the shoulder back. It's currently the 5 weeks since I got the vaccine but I only got the lumps (as far as I'm aware) 2 weeks after the vaccine. I went to a&e as I thought it was causing problems I was in pain but it was just a panic attack n the doctor didn't seem concerned when she checked them with her hands. I then had a gp appointment on the 16th august and the doctor didn't seem concerned that it was anything sinister but he said he'll get me through for an ultra sound to give me peace at mind which I have on the 13th September (feels ages away :( ) I hadn't had any other problems with these lumps but I came on my period a few days ago and two days before it I had bloating bad especially in the top of my stomach and sometimes pains and an urge to pee a lot. I thought I had a uti but the urine sample had no trace of infection but blood (I was spot bleeding) so she's sending off to lab but she says it doesn't sound concerning. I came off my period 3 days ago and the bloating and pains and peeing urge is still there but only when I'm alone and thinking about it all. I never have any other symptoms of something or pains or feeling bloated when I'm with my boyfriend or friends or doing day to day things but when I'm alone I'm getting it. I have serious health anxiety so I tend to overthink every feeling and cause a lot of problems in my body from panic attacks and tensing and stress. I don't know if my stress has just absolutely ruined my period this month and caused the pms symptoms to last longer and be bad but I don't know. I'm incredibly worried but everyone around me thinks I'm fine. Maybe I'm making myself sick but the bloating of the stomach is worrying me :( I'm an 18 year old and never smoked or having any cancer in the family but I just can't seem to find peace and I've been stressing since. The doctors so far think it's to do with vaccine or maybe an infection I'm not aware off but I can't rest. The lumps haven't changed or gotten bigger they are just like small soft squishy moveable beans so I don't know.  I just want to be okay :(

  • Hi ya,I'm from the UK and it's so good to find people talking about lymph nodes.
I have had horrendous pains in groin and armpits a week and a half after having first vaccine on 29th may,had second weeks later and they are still up today.
my GP sent me to hospital for ultra sounds on breasts and armpits and my node in my left armpit is 4mm which is boarder line. The breast consultant didn't seem worried and said she has seen so many patients with enlargers painful lymph nodes after the vanccines which have lasted for months after. I have to go back in 2 months time for it to be checked again,if it's still enlarged then they will take a biopsy from it. All blood tests have come back normal, but I've been worried sick.
thank you all for sharing, you have helped so much. I can't find anything from the UK.
