Lump in neck worried

Hello,

So I had been reading posts on here but couldn't find anything that was completely similar.

So my GP recently sent me for an MRI which I had last week in regards to constant migrains and headaches going on 2 months now and have one every single day without fail! But also had dizziness and balance problems. I didn't have much else, but recently just been feeling nauseous all the time on top of it.

But last night, I was moisturising and noticed a rather large lump in my neck, at the front under my chin, I am over weight so it's kind of more in my double chin but hard and definitely on my neck rather than a loose lump.

I do often have trouble swallowing and sore throat regularly which I put down to my under active thyroid, but would the MRI pick this up if this was anything sinister as I know they were just doing the head?

Anyone else had similar? My partner even felt it and he was worried too although tried to hide it as my first reaction was to cry! I wasn't too worried about the MRI as it was just a precaution, but after feeling the lump I am a little worried.

GP has booked me in for a follow up in a week, which feels like a looong wait, no idea if she has my MRI results or just checking on me

Any replies would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Hi Danni91,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of your worries and I hope it's not too long to wait for your results and to find out more about this.

As you have an appointment booked in with the GP, the best thing will be to discuss the lump you've found with your doctor during that. They will be best placed to advise.

Wishing you all the best and as I say I hope you find out more soon.
