Losing blood 6 years after hysterectomy

Feeling really worried- I had a total hysterectomy 6 years ago due to endometriosis. I had a fall at work last October (fell backwards onto the floor) and had a lot of blood loss. After putting it off I eventually went to docs who examined me and was concerned that I had torn the cuff. I was referred to the hospital for investigation. The consultant put me on some cream as she thought the bleeding could be due to hormone levels. This didn't do anything. I then had a biopsy and I. U. A, and ablation 4 weeks ago. I was due to see her again later this month, but I got called back in to see her early due to the pathology findings. I went back last week, and after examining me again she said she needs to urgently refer me to a gynaecology oncologist. I am still losing blood, and tonight I am worried because it's literally pouring out of me. I've passed lots of blood clots, and one made such a loud splash into the toilet. (Sorry if tmi). I'm going through pads and knickers.
Its now been over a week and I've not had the appointment yet. She did say it was an urgent 2 week referral. I've continued to work (I'm a Covid vaccinator so don't want to let anyone down).
I'm feeling quite concerned tonight and don't know who to turn to for advise. Can anyone advise me what it could be, and if there's anywhere I can contact for help.

  • Hi Ahatch,

Firstly welcome to Cancer Chat and I'm sorry you haven't received a reply up to now. I can certainly understand your worries - I'm glad to hear you have a referral in place but I'm sure the lack of news with that must be frustrating. You should receive the appointment within the two-week window, but if things are particularly difficult in the meantime then you should give your doctor a call - they can always advise and if needs be potentially try to hurry things along.

Make sure you are looking after yourself too, and if this means needing to take some time off then that may be the best thing to do if this helps.

I hope you're able to get that appointment booked in soon. We're also always here for support on the forum if you need it at any point.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
