Pain in left breast and armpit

I've had pain in my left breast for the past month, I initially thought it was due to time of the month but the pain hasn't left. I got an appointment with my doctor who examined me and found nothing concerning, but due to my family history thought it best to refer for a mammogram. I had a clear routine mammogram 6 months ago, but am worried sick that it may have Missed something or that something agressive has developed  since then.

Has anyone had anything similar?

    Hello Shull, 

    It's good that the doctor was so thorough and took into account your family history and referred you for a mammogram. It's very reassuring that you had a clear routine mammogram 6 months ago and hopefully you won't have to wait too long now to have this new mammogram. 

    I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

    I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you. 

    Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Thank you for taking the time to reply. 
     
    I'm trying to keep occupied and really hoping and praying all will be ok.

     

    Hopefully it won't be long until I get the mammogram.
