Hello, I've been referred by my GP to have a lump in my breast checked out and was told I'd be seen within two weeks. Two weeks passed and no appointment so yesterday I looked into going private (as I have health insurance but only covers up to £250) and they made me an appointment for next week but today I've had a call from nhs with an appointment for me for the following week. I know that with the private one they will scan me and if needed do a biopsy on the day so I just want to know if I am likely to get the same at the nhs one and would I be best to go to that one, even though it's a week later? My medical insurance is unlikely to cover the full cost of the private one so I'm pretty sure I'll have to pay out a few hundred pounds if I take the private option.
Any advice appreciated.
