I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found it lump. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious particularly as you've had your own cancer diagnosis in the past and you lost your Mum.

I know we've had many people most here on the forum who have initially been given antibiotics after finding a lump and this is probably because the GP wants to rule out if there is any underlying infection that could be responsible for your symptoms. It's good to hear that you have an appointment arranged to see them next week. Hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance at the appointment and arrange any necessary tests or referrals that they feel may be appropriate.
