Hi everyone - Im new to this so apologies if this post is wrong in any way!!
Im went for an ultrasound in Leeds after finding a lump in my neck - after examining the lump they told me it was nothing to worry about but that they had found a cyst that they wanted a specialist to look at. The next week my GP called me and explained they wanted to do a biopsy as the characteristics of the cyst meant that a papillary carcinoma diagnosis could not be excluded. This obviously frightened me and as I was away at university in Leeds (Im 19 years old) my parents decided I should come home and to go privately for my biopsy to get it sorted quickly. Anyway, following a consultation at this private hospital they sent me for a fine needle aspiration and ultrasound. However, the radiologist decided not to do the biopsy and refer me for an MRI instead - this was last thursday and I havent heard back re my MRI and my consultant is on holiday. As you can imagine I am confused and anxious and unsure if this hospital is aware of the concerns of the radiologist in Leeds. I have tried contacting them but they havent been very helpful... I dont really know what to do.
