Lump found in vulva area at the top

Hello!

I am hoping someone may be able to put me at ease. For over a year I have been dealing with uncomfortable urination, I find it difficult to explain the sensation however it can last for some hours and I have to sit with a hot water bottle to make it pass. However, it does get slightly better when I drink water and remain hydrated. The other symptom I have is frequent urination, for example I drink let's say 500ml of water and then have to pee 3 times within 1 hour.

I have been fobbed off many times from docs, urine is clear and all vaginal swabs clear. I recently had my smear which also came back clear.

I have went private to gynae and been referred for a scan, he insists it will come clear and this is to put my mind at ease! He also did a pelvic examination, bit tender at the top left hand side but this may have been due to me being constipated. So this was six weeks ago, been horrific wait for this scan that I am due to get tomorrow. The scan is trans vaginal to look at soft tissue.

last night I had a quick exam on my vulva area, right at the top I found a lump. I actually didn't notice this at first, however there was a small lesion which looks like a hole, then underneath there is a very hard lump, not like a solid round lump. Now that I am aware of this, it does feel numb and burny but overall not painful to touch: I probably wouldn't have looked so much into this if it wasn't for the urine thing.

I am overly anxious, my brother who is 16 was diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma which is obviously rare for someone his age! This just feeds my health anxiety.

I have called the doctors to notify of this and they will call me Friday (after my scan tomorrow)

has anyone experienced this before? I am 27 years old, smoker also.

any advice would really help, I'm really becoming depressed and overwhelmed with this

thanks,

  • Hello Lauren,

So how did your scan go yesterday? I hope  you have found out more by now and that the scan has given you the reassurance you clearly needed.

Best of luck too for your appointment with the doctor's today about the lump in your vulva. I hope that it all turns out to be nothing to worry about.

    Best wishes,
