Bit unsure if I should be concerned?

Hello everyone, it’s been just over a year that Iv had deep aching in my shoulder...Iv had an immobiliser sling, cortisone injection, X-ray (clear) and ultrasound which showed “what they think” was calcification (not looked into) in the multiple times I went to hospital. Iv done a years physio with no help, today I had the orthopaedic appointment (over the phone) and after detailing my symptoms, previous treatment & time it’s been, she asked me to go in today (which I was unable to get a lift) so she’s booked me in for next week. The specialists was asking the common cancer questions but not if there’s any family history - there is, severely on both sides. Should I be concerned that she’s asked to see me so quickly? Rotator cuff tear & frozen shoulder has been ruled at out hospital, I’m not really sure how to feel about things as I know somethings not right. Sorry for the long post! Thankyou for any responses :-) love & warm wishes to all x

  • Hello AlwaysAWorrier,

Try not to worry at all about the fact they have asked to see you so quickly it doesn't mean anything in itself; it's great that they had a slot for you and that you are able to be seen very soon.

It won't be long now until you get some definite answers as to what may be causing these shoulder issues. Try and avoid looking anything up online as this will inevitably only make you worry more and it is well known that Dr Google is not to be trusted.

I hope that your appointment goes well next week and keep everything crossed for you that it turns out to be nothing to worry about.

    Best wishes,

  • Thankyou very much Lucie, I will be happy when my shoulder feels normal and painfree again. :-) I hope you have a good weekend x

  • Good afternoon,

I have been booked for another ultrasound scan and also a needle guided by the ultrasound, the consultant will decide afterwards if he wants to do an mri and said I may need surgery which has a long recovery period but I’m still no closer to the answer. I explained something was found on the last ultrasound which was not followed up and I also had the needle (although not guided by ultrasound) but he didn’t seem interested. I feel like I weren’t listened to and have been fobbed off. :-(
