Pre Cancer cells in Womb

Hi Everybody,

I'm new here and hope somebody can help.

I'm 54 and have had some post menopausal bleeding. I've had a transvaginal ultrasound scan and a hysteroscopy, biopsies and insertion of the merina coil. I have just been told that my biopies show pre cancer cells. However as I m morbidly obese and have underlying health conditions I am unable to have a hysterectomy which would be the ideal treatment. My consultant has tried to reassure me that the coil is a good treatment and hopefully it will work. He will repeat the biopsies in six months. As you might imagine I am extremely` worried and lie awake thinking about these cells growing and developing into cancer.

Has anybody on here had the same thing, or similar? Has anybody had pre cancer cells that were 'changed/cured' by the coil?

I would be very grateful to hear your experiences as I'm really anxious and worried. Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Wal54,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of your worries and what you're going through. I can understand your concerns and I'm sure there will be an element of uncertainty - perhaps try to focus on any positives such as that the consultant is confident of the good treatment available, and also that you will be having regular monitoring with the repeat biopsies.

If anyone here has similar experience to share, hopefully they'll be along soon.

We're always here for support on the forum whenever you need it.

    Wishing you all the best,
