Hello,

Just wondering if anyone on this group as benign liver tumours. Also are these common?

  • Hi bethahite727,

I am not sure if they are common however I was diagnosed with benign hemangiomas in my liver back in October.

    thanks,

    mia

  • Thank you for your reply.  I have six largest 4cm my next mri is next Saturday. I'm getting quiet a bit of pain which is worrying me x

  • No worries. I'm sorry to hear that I have multiple but my largest is 2 cm, I'm sorry to hear your having pain. Hopefully your doctor will provide some treatment soon so you don't need to be in as much pain. Best of luck I hope everything starts looking up for you.

  • How many do you have and are you also having follow up mri? I suffer with health anxiety so the symptoms I'm getting is more than likely through my anxiety due to me worrying so much about this xx

  • Hiya,

I had a scan last year for an unrelated medical condition but it flagged up a mass on my liver, I was told it’s benign although they weren’t sure what it was or the cause/reason for it. Iv not queried it further as I have a lot going on. Does this sound similar to yourself? x

  • Hi,

well I had a ultrasound last December that found six tumours I then had mri with contrast which said likely benign and FNH and to have a follow up in 4 months the follow up is next Saturday. I'm really nervous is because I've being getting pain but I suffer with health anxiety so I get every symptom going when I think I have a serious illness xx

  • I have a few diff medical conditions & also quite severe endometriosis which is why I have scans often (awaiting second major surgery ) I sometimes wonder if this mass could be some endometriosis tissue but I won’t know unless they check the liver too. I have pretty severe cancer on both sides of my family and have lost close to 20 relatives in the space of 2 years (mainly cancer), It’s really good that your having a follow up, have you thought about any questions you would like to ask them? It could be helpful if you write them down whilst there fresh in your mind. Maybe they could address the pain your experiencing and give advice on how to manage it. I do hope your appointment goes well and your alright. Let us know how you get on xx

  • It's the same here everyone that as passed away in my family as being from cancer my auntie was only 28 when she passed away from cancer it's so scary. Have they not done you any follow ups to check the liver? And I will do but when I get the MRI the radiologist doesn't really tell you much and when they then send me a report it's very vague xxx

  • OMG she was young! I’m so sorry for your loss, yeh it is scary and it’s horrible when all you wonder is “who is next”.....but I have quite a few relatives battling or are terminal with cancer at present. They didn’t do any follow up with it which was a bit worrying as I’m none the wiser to what exactly it is. My bloods have been terrible for getting on 2 years - severely anemic needing blood transfusions, b12 very low needing intense course of injections, calcium levels low am on medication and some other levels are low. I just assumed if it’s not looked into further then it must be ok...I would like to know exactly what it is tho because of my family’s health history. That’s alright, I know they take what feels like forever to give you the results or ask you to simply book in with your gp for them but its so hard to get a doctors appointment. It is vague and makes you feel left in the dark for quite a while xxx
