Scared it could be inflammatory breast cancer

I'm 19 years old and a teenage girl. For the past few months I've had tenderness in my breasts just on and off where wearing a bra will hurt but I don't know if that's because they're sensitive and I don't like bras anyway. Sometimes I'm noticing my nipples are randomly inverted or one is inverted and the other isn't. I have atopic ezcema so they are really dry with sort of purple spots but I put this down to ezcema. I'm worrying myself to the point I'm shaking even though everyone says I'm fine, one feels more firm but ones always been a bit bigger. It's just my nipples get itchy and the tenderness that scares me and the fact they're dry. What's the chances of me having this so young? I just believe I'm worrying myself over nothing but I need reassurance

    Hi Elz,

A very warm welcome to our forum. Tenderness doesn't usually attend breast cancer, but there are no hard and fast rules.

Having had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years, I know only too well the worry that you have at present. Unfortunately, there is no way that anyone can give you the reassurance you need, except a doctor. Please make an appointment with your GP this week to explain your concerns. You may have a telephone consultation at first, but can still be see if your GP deems it necessary.

If your GP suspects anything you will be referred to the breast clinic for further tests. It is only through scans and biopsies that you can be certain that you are cancer free. At the moment you are hopefully worrying over nothing, but why take the chance? Set your mind to rest.

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
