Concerning thickness of the uterus wall

Hi , hope you all keeping well .

I had huge clots during my periods and painful pelvic area and loadsof UTI , but periods are touch wood regular.

I went to the gp and thy sent me for a ultrasound scan. They found I have a cyst in the right overt - about 3.5 cms and the thickness of the wall was 19.8mm wgich he said was very concerning.

I am due for a biopsy within a mnth where thy will put me to sleep and check if for abnormalities.

I am worried about what they will find.

I am 33 and I have a 8 yr old daughter .

please tell me if anyone has been through this .

  • Hello MillyS,

There no way of knowing until the futher tests are complete and worrying can have a negative impact on your mental health. I hope an appointment date comes soon for you and that it goes ok.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Millie, wondering how things are now?

I am 45 and so far have no signs of the menopause. I have been having a bit of pain after sex and some very mild spotting between periods. My periods are still very regular. I have a copper coil fitted. The spotting started playing in my mind so I went to the docs. They referred me for an ultra sound and I have just been to the docs for the results.

They found a cyst 5x5x7 (I am assuming cm) they couldn't find my overies, either of them, in the normal way- I think he meant they were obstructed by the cyst. They also found fluid in the uterus. They also used the term thick cystic wall. I am now going to have the c125 blood test and I have been fast tracked to gynaecologist, so I will be seen in 2 weeks.
the doctor said we are worried it might be something sinister- which obviously freaked me out!!
would love to here if how things worked out for others- the next 2 weeks are going to be so stressful!!!

    thanks!
