Waitting on mri results

Hi, I just over 2 weeks ago I had a general eye test at the optician that said I had swelling on my optic nerves I was sent to the hospital more or less straight away to been seen and the doctor confirmed what the optician said, he suspected I had fluid on the brain and sent me for a mri scan, it's been 2 and half weeks and I'm still waitting on results, after the mri I had a letter lirtrelly the next day for 7th April for another eye test and to speak to a consultant, I've been told not to worry by friends as if it were serious I would have heard by now but it dosent stop the worry specially as my mum passed due to a problem in the brain, my husband is going through hell with his anxiety at the minute with worry. I have allso been having pressure symptoms in my head and behined the eyes and my vision has been going blurry for a few seconds before going back to normal.

  • Hello ShellyL,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your MRI results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
